135th Anniversary Cathedral Celebration Service

That’s 135 years of Derbyshire children stepping off a coach or train in Skegness, seeing the sea for the first time, and feeling — often for the very first time — carefree.

One former holidaymaker told us:
“I didn’t know holidays like that were for kids like me. I thought they were for other families.”

Another shared:
“It was the first time I slept in clean sheets that weren’t mine at home. I felt safe.”

This is what we do.

We give children space to breathe, to build confidence, to laugh loudly, to try something new — and to return home believing in themselves.

On Saturday 13th June 2026 3pm, we will mark this milestone with a flagship anniversary service at Derby Cathedral.

This will not be a traditional service. It will be a curated celebration of 135 years of impact — brought to life in collaboration with Derby Theatre through drama, storytelling, music and powerful visual moments.

Together, we will:

• Celebrate the strength and spirit of our Derbyshire community
