Kirsty Corbett speaks with Isaac Neilson, the Buxton musician taking on one of the most ambitious challenges in UK grassroots music — performing a gig every single day throughout 2026.
21st June is the official halfway point of his year‑long mission to find out whether a working‑class, independent artist can break through the industry without connections, shortcuts or backing.
Isaac talks about the journey so far, including some standout moments:
• a shoutout in the House of Lords
• receiving a grant to develop his music
• support from John McClure of Reverend and the Makers at their May pop‑up shop
• and the unexpected joy of Goose & Gander hoodies arriving through the post
He also discusses the release of his new single ‘Getting Better’, out on 19 June, and how the challenge is shaping him creatively, mentally and physically.
