Kirsty speaks to Sallyann Fellowes, multi‑award‑winning comedian and one of the standout performers at this year’s Ram Comedy Festival. Sallyann talks about her brand‑new work‑in‑progress show Birdy, inspired by her unusual path from theatre to policing — and the comedic chaos that comes with having a notorious gangster in the family tree.
They explore her neurodivergent wit, the absurdity of police life, the “Birdy” nickname that followed her everywhere, and how she’s shaped those experiences into a sharp, honest and brilliantly funny hour of storytelling.
Sallyann performs Birdy on 6 June, 9:30pm at Dubrek Studios.
