Wearing Feelings: Childhood in Black and Bright is the major 2026 exhibition at The Children’s Country House at Sudbury, delving into 150 years of children’s fashion and how clothing has shaped emotional expression throughout childhood.
Drawing from the Museum of Childhood’s remarkable collection, the exhibition traces the journey from rigid, restrictive garments of the past to the looser, more comfortable clothing that allowed children to move freely, play boldly and express themselves more openly. Visitors can explore iconic outfits, historical trends and the cultural shifts that helped redefine what childhood could look and feel like.
The exhibition also features creative partnerships and sustainable craftspeople, marking a key event milestone for 2026.
Booking isn’t required, and standard admission applies.
